Truer words haven’t been spoken by anyone else better than Queen.

“Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality.”

~Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen, 1975)

We all live in our own bubble. And we can’t escape it. The idea is to not break out of it. That’s impossible anyway. The idea is to expand it, as much as possible. Expand it enough for reality to find its way inside. And once you seem settled in, by making it nice and cozy, decide whether to live with the reality or to change it. Because the reality that you have so generously welcomed, isn’t all flowers and glory. It’s rather dark and gut-wrenching.

If you think your bubble is the end, then you’ve misunderstood. Your bubble is just the beginning. There are other bubbles with darker realities floating around that you haven’t even had a chance to dip your finger in. Those bubbles, they are waiting for you to find them.

You may also think the expansion would burst the bubble. That’s where you are wrong. Because this isn’t about the bubble. The bubble is strong enough for the whole world and all its brutalities. This is about you. This is about how much you can take whilst the bubble keeps getting injected with more eye-opening, mind-clenching realities. If you can manage to ignore them, you’ve already won the battle. The bubble is safe and blissfully yours. But if ignorance isn’t your thing, your bubble will keep taking in, until you can no longer handle it. And then you will burst, not the bubble. The bubble will just hunt for a new tenant.
