Home: Israel

The sun shines directly above our heads,

And many voices resound throughout the four quarters of the Old City of Jerusalem:

in the Muslim quarter, the voices emanate during the noontime prayer,

in the Jewish quarter, the voices whisper towards the Western Wall,

in the Armenian quarter, the voices pray in a quiet symphony,

and in the Christian quarter, the voices chant over a tomb in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

And among these many voices there is a sense of unity:

unity in practicing a faith,

unity in religious diversity,

unity in worshiping in Jerusalem,

and unity in a place the voices call home: Israel.
