The first edition of ReactFoo Hyderabad took place on 17 March. Involved participation from an engaged audience are metrics of the event’s success.

ReactFoo provides a platform for seasoned developers to speak about best practices and industry experiences. ReactFoo Hyderabad was an exciting event with talks ranging from latest developments in the React ecosystem, Vue, Angular, and the front-end developer ecosystem as a whole.

The conference started with a talk on the future of React. The talk elaborated on a host of exciting features such as React portals, fragments, error boundary and render props. The pain of managing DevOps, including build and deployment, is tiresome for all companies. Thus the talk about using the Hasura’s cloud service to build and deploy React apps was useful.

The event featured six new speakers: Ankita Goyal, Nitish Phanse, Sachin Chopra, Subramanya Chakravarthy, Naman Kalkhuria and Praveen Durai. Each one presented important insights about building performant apps.

The audience appreciated Siddharth Kshetarpal’s talk, “our front-end workflows”. This talk outlined the how the workflow has been made smoother using common design system called ‘Cosmos’. The design team at Auth0 created Cosmos so that front-end developers can rapidly create standard and robust web applications. Other speakers helped the audience gauge alternatives to ReactJS with talks about VueJS, using redux in Angular, and state management with MobX.

Another interesting aspect of ReactFoo Hyderabad was the informal Birds Of Feather (BOF) sessions and panel discussion. Participants enjoyed having all their questions answered by experts, and also contributed to the discussions. ReactFoo Hyderabad had two BOF sessions: Alternatives to ReactJS, and challenges and advantages of moving app development to React Native. The closing panel was based on the theme of building reusable UI: engineering, maintenance and team challenges.

Overall, participants went back with new ideas which will help them in their careers and professional projects. Not to forget a subtle yet strong feeling of community.
