Hey, we’re a bit late with the newsletter this week (again), can we also say it’s because of the S3 outage from last night? 🙈

In any case, we are exactly a month away from Kilter! (our new conference on fitness, nutrition, and habits).

Here is the TL;DR for this week:

Delhi on Saturday

  • Kilter Meetup in Gurgaon on Running, with Souvik. RSVP here.
  • Rootconf meetup on tooling, monitoring and service reliability with Manan and Yagnik. RSVP here.

Pune on Saturday

  • Kilter Meetup on Keto, with Kushal. RSVP here.
  • Rootconf meetup on distributed systems and Paxos with Ramakrishna and Jaideep RSVP here.

HasGeek is in Delhi and Pune this weekend!

If you are in Delhi or Pune and are still undecided about Kilter and Rootconf, you should drop by the meetups happening over the weekend and talk to us.

Delhi folks,

We’re hosting a Kilter meetup at Travel Triangle office in Gurgaon on Saturday from 2–4pm. We’ll have Souvik Das Gupta talk about running. If you’re interested in learning more about how to get started with running and most importantly, how to keep yourself motivated to exercise regularly, this meetup provides a great opportunity. Souvik would also talk about the safety precautions if you’re new to running.

Some of us from Rootconf are coming to Delhi this weekend to talk about scaling, infrastructure and site reliability engineering. Drop by and help us in building a relevant conference, and understanding the concerns and challenges that DevOps face today.

Pune folks,

Have you been contemplating on starting a healthy diet? Wondering what the journey looks like? Wanted to talk to someone who’s benefited out of the Keto diet? Come attend the Kilter meetup in Pune on the 4th of March to hear from Kushal Das about his journey with the Keto diet.

Kilter AMA and open houses

As part of our leadup to the conference next month, we have a weekly AMA and open house on topics related fitness, nutrition and health. The AMAs are held on thursdays on the #kilter channel our community slack team — Friends of HasGeek, while the open houses happen on Friday evenings, usually at our office.

Here’s what’s planned for this week.

AMA on cycling

Three experienced cyclists (Archana Seshagiri, BOTS; Kavitha Kanaparthi, Globe Racers; Bikey Venky, popular cyclist) will answer all your questions about cycling.
If you want to know how to start cycling, where to cycle in the city, how to pick your first cycle, what tools you need to fix a cycle, what muscles cycling exercises, and more, this AMA is the place to be!

The AMA will happen at 5pm on Thursday in two places

Open house on anxiety

In today’s busy life, it’s not uncommon for most of us to feel stressed or anxious. However, extreme anxiety requires care and attention — something many of us can’t provide because we can’t recognize the symptoms. Come to hear qualified and experienced people speak about the theory of what they know and what they learned from experience.

As usual, if you are interested in attending Rootconf, Kilter or both, you should pick up your tickets soon. Prices go up every Friday.
