Announcing the Speaker Line-Up for the “ReFi: Net Zero Web3” Session at Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023
Co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group, and organised by W3ME, the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023 will take place from April 12 to 15.
HONG KONG, April 6, 2023 — We are pleased to announce that the “Renewable Finance (ReFi): Net Zero Web3” themed session at the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023 will be hosted in collaboration with event co-organiser arkreen and held on the afternoon of April 13th on sub-stage 3. Distinguished experts and leaders have been invited to participate as guest speakers, to explore together how blockchain and Web3 technologies can be leveraged to promote the development of renewable energy and carbon neutrality.

The Web3 world has always been striving to establish deep connections with the real world to expand its global influence. ReFi (regenerative finance) is a new generation of information technology that uses digital means to disrupt the traditional carbon neutrality business model, based on blockchain, the Internet of Things, smart contracts and other new technologies. The name “ReFi” is borrowed from “DeFi” (Decentralised Finance), but it is not limited to carbon finance, but also includes the creation of carbon assets such as forest carbon credits and photovoltaic green certificates, such as Flowcarbon and arkreen; the development of blockchain-based carbon markets after the digitalisation and tokenisation of carbon assets, such as Toucan; the development of financial derivative products based on tokenised carbon assets, such as Senken; carbon technology service providers, such as OFP; and carbon asset standard issuing institutions such as Verra and GoldStandard.
Although the global carbon market is still in its early stages of development and exploration, ReFi, as an emerging force in the Web3 world, has already formed hundreds of promising projects globally, and is deeply involved in the development and optimisation of carbon credit standards. The “Renewable Finance (ReFi): Web3 Carbon Neutrality” themed session will explore in-depth how to leverage Hong Kong’s friendly operating environment, favorable policy support, and convenient communication platforms to facilitate the development of the ReFi ecosystem, while further connecting Web3 with the traditional world. We cordially invite institutions and individuals interested in ReFi to participate in this session, and work together to promote the development of the ReFi ecosystem and use Web3 to change the real world!
