Hong Kong Web3 Festival DeFi Session: A Deep Dive into DeFi 2.0
Co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group, and organised by W3ME, the Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023 will take place from April 12 to 15.
HONG KONG, March 31, 2023 — The Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023 will host in-depth discussions on various core Web3 topics, providing attendees with a comprehensive and multidimensional understanding of the cutting-edge technology and latest perspectives in the Web3 world. On the morning of April 13th, sub-stage 2 will hold the “Web3 Financial Infrastructure: DeFi” session, inviting experts and renowned project leaders deeply involved in the DeFi field to share their insights on the innovations and developments.

DeFi is one of the most exciting developments in the virtual asset field in recent years. After several years of development, DeFi’s application scenarios are becoming increasingly diverse, and data has witnessed DeFi’s growth trajectory. According to CoinGecko’s data, as of now, DeFi’s total asset size has exceeded USD 30 billion. DeFi’s rapid pace has entered the so-called “DeFi 2.0” era in just a few years. The core of 2.0 is to turn liquidity into DeFi’s infrastructure layer, allowing DeFi to become more sustainable.
Challenges and Opportunities for DeFi 2.0
From the development model of native virtual assets to connecting traditional finance to DeFi, the continuous innovation of decentralised finance has also attracted the attention of governments in various countries. Multiple countries and regions have introduced regulatory frameworks. In the era of strong regulation, what are the challenges that DeFi faces? What opportunities will there be in the real world?
At the “The Regulatory Challenges and Real-World Opportunities in DeFi” roundtable, Miki Mak, Web3 & Token Advisor at Outlier Ventures (Moderator); Jakob Kronbichler, Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Clearpool; Eugene Ng, Co-founder of OpenEden; Rachel LIN, Co-founder and CEO of SynFutures; Yuzhu LIU, Asia Business Development and Market Leader of Acala Network, will provide their answers to the above questions.

About the Web3 Festival
The inaugural Hong Kong Web3 Festival (12–15 April) is a virtual asset-focused conference co-hosted by the HashKey Group and Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and organised by W3ME at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event will draw more than 10,000 offline attendees and will also feature over 100 crypto projects as exhibitors and 300 distinguished industry leaders, venture capitalists and senior executives from finance institutions as speakers. The Hong Kong Web3 Festival 2023 will be held in sync with the Hong Kong International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (InnoEX), organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
