Heirloom Drives Towards a Blockchain-based Oil & Gas Supply Chain & Asset Tracking Solution

Hashmap is pleased to announce to our customers, partners, and the community that Heirloom, a project of Hashmap Innovation Labs, has been selected to participate in the Y Combinator Startup School program.
10 Week Accelerator Program
The 10 week Y Combinator Startup School accelerator program includes 14 startups collaborating in a group environment focused on metric-driven, rapid innovation for the purpose of exploring new technologies and implementing solutions across existing and new vertical industries.
What is Heirloom?
Heirloom is a Blockchain-based Oil & Gas Supply Chain & Asset Tracking Solution that aims to address the challenge of the current manually driven processes for submitting purchase orders, tracking supplies, confirming deliveries, submitting invoices, and validating payments across a range of trust boundaries that must be crossed from raw material to finished product.
By implementing Blockchain tracking of supplies, Heirloom removes the trust boundary from the equation and can provide highly trustworthy, instantly auditable records of the supply chain for any industry, though the solution focuses initially on the Oil & Gas vertical.
Business Outcomes with BlockChain
Heirloom’s business outcome based focus is multi-faceted and includes the following:
- Provide a single source of truth for supply chain tracking and asset management across trust boundaries
- Automate the audit process, allowing audits to be performed cheaply and continuously, instead of requiring expensive bulk audits every quarter/year
- Remove as much email-based processing as possible to enable autopaying and immutable contracting directly in the platform
- Eventually, the solution would also provide supply chain optimization features and supply change forecasting
