Hashmap Joins the Atlan Partner Network

Helping data teams do more, together

--

For both Atlan and Hashmap, an NTT DATA Company, everything starts with creating value for our customers — that’s why we are so excited to announce that we’re officially part of Atlan’s partner network! You may already know that we are huge fans of Atlan and how they’re revolutionizing the modern data workspace. With that in mind, we are thrilled to join them as a partner. We know this is just the beginning of an amazing partnership, and we can’t wait to see what our teams can accomplish together to help data teams everywhere.💙

Interested in finding out more about Atlan’s “Modern Data Workspace” and how are they helping data teams alongside partners like Hashmap around the world benefit from it? Read on. ✨

Why Atlan?

Atlan is focused on collaboration, documentation, and usability so that data teams spend less time finding and understanding data and can focus on business outcomes and collaboration.

Their “Modern Data Workspace” contains key components such as a Data Catalog, Data Quality/Profiling, Data Exploration, and Data Lineage. If you’re interested in checking out Atlan, they provide a guided demo and a free trial available here:

What sets Atlan apart from others?

Atlan’s focus, since being founded in 2018, is democratizing data and growing a highly collaborative data community. They are making this goal a reality by making significant contributions to the data community through resources like their DataOps Culture Code and their Co-founder, Prukalpa’s Metadata Weekly newsletter — more on that below!

The DataOps Culture Code is part of Atlan’s documentation and they describe their process of creating it as, “We experimented for two years, across 200 data projects, to create our own viewpoint of what makes data teams successful. We’ve codified these learnings into what we call the “DataOps Culture Code”. Within their learnings, Atlan explains that there is no easy answer to making data teams successful and collaboration is key, “Data teams will always have a variety of roles, each with their own skills, favorite tools, and DNA. Embrace the diversity and create mechanisms for effective collaboration”. Find out more about Altan’s learnings here:

Are you a fan of newsletters?

Here at Hashmap, we love a good newsletter. If you do, too, we highly recommend subscribing to their newsletter, Metadata Weekly. Each week, we look forward to reading the perspectives of Prukalpa, Co-Founder at Atlan. In the newsletter, Prukalpa curates her recommended reads and shares her thoughts on everything around the modern data stack and metadata. Check out one example, from a recent Weekly, of one of Prukalpa’s viewpoints that VP of GTM at Hashmap, Kelly Kohlleffel, highlighted in his recent blog post focused on data governance:

“We are entering the third generation of data catalogs. It’s a fundamental transformation from the prevalent old-school, on-premise data catalogs to the modern approach which is built around diverse data assets, big metadata, end-to-end data visibility, embedded collaboration, and the principle that context needs to be available wherever and whenever users need it.”
— Prukalpa, Co-Founder at Atlan

What does Atlan Co-Founder, Prukalpa, have to say about the partnership?

Thanks, Prukalpa — we 💙 you too!

You can also hear Prukalpa on an episode of our Hashmap on Tap podcast. Prukalpa takes the podcast’s host Kelly Kohlleffel through her role at Atlan, the core tenets of a modern collaborative data workspace, and what it means to think about data as a product instead of a service. So where does Hashmap fit into Atlan’s goal of democratizing data and growing a highly collaborative data community? On Atlan’s recent LinkedIn post announcing our partnership, they explained:
