Women in Data Governance Roundtable with TD SYNNEX, Monte Carlo, & Matillion

Hashmap on Tap Ep. 122

--

“The number one thing that I think leaders should be asking is, what is the goal of the data? What are the business use cases that this data is being used for? Because you could have the cleanest, best data in the world but if it’s not actually solving a business problem, what’s the point of having a DevOps program at all. I think really it’s important to be asking questions of your stakeholders early on about how they’re going to be using the data and what reliability looks like to them.” — Molly Vorwerck, Head of Content and Communications at Monte Carlo

March is a month dedicated to highlighting the contributions of women throughout history. In celebration of that, Hashmap brought together female leaders from the data industry to discuss their top concerns and challenges about data governance on an episode of the Hashmap on Tap podcast. Throughout the roundtable discussion, they shared their perspectives on how they create solutions for usable, trusted, and reliable data. If you are looking for direction in your overall data governance strategy, this episode is packed with phenomenal advice.

The three data leaders come from a variety of backgrounds within the data governance space — Jyoti Pathak is Director of Data Engineering and Analytics at TD SYNNEX. They’re a leading distributor and solutions aggregator for the IT ecosystem. Molly Vorwerck is Head of Content and Communications at Monte Carlo, a data observability and reliability platform. Amy Horowitz is Regional Vice President at Matillion, a modern analytics and cloud-native solution providing ETL and data integration solutions.

Throughout the roundtable, you will hear their perspectives on:

  • Using data literacy to provide value
