Iranian police seized a truck with smuggled Bitcoin mining equipment

Local Police Department from Iranian city Saveh seized a truck with 117 cryptocurrency mining machines at a total cost of 277 876$. The arrested truck driver allegedly tried to smuggle in mining devices. According to a Police News Agency official Sardar Kiomars Azizi, the police confiscated the mining equipment and stopped the truck driver.

Just a couple days ago Iranian government authorized cryptocurrency mining as industrial activity. From now on Bitcoin miners are required to seek a license from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade. Sadly, Iranians still can’t use cryptocurrency for domestic transactions.
