RiteKit Company Logo API as alternative to Brandfetch

No company logo API will provide a 100% success rate, but some are smarter than others. Almost none rule out gravatars, random photos on an index page, etc., and so, success rates vary wildly.

In addition to the results of our testing Brandfetch and RiteKit, I will include information on Klazify and another company logo API, Clearbit (though Clearbit requires attribution with every instance of use — see half-way down the page: https://clearbit.com/logo).

Whether you need to automatically populate user profiles with company logos for your customers in medical data software, financial transaction apps or company data sites, you will want to choose your company logo API first on success rate. Let’s start there:

Evaluate exactly what all four company logo APIs provide with the data from a test of 100 domains: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bAUw_6OErxAkFyWq94TWoXUkAuMd_6oXl7dnLV14Y90/edit?usp=sharing

And then, test the APIs yourself:

Test Brandfetch company logo API in https://brandfetch.com/brand-api/logo-api

Test Clearbit company logo API in https://clearbit.com/logo

Test Klazify company logo API in https://www.klazify.com/pages/company-api

Test RiteKit company logo API in https://ritekit.com/api-demo/company-logo

Choose the only company logo API with better than 90% success rate

Compare Brandfetch with RiteKit on Pricing

To be clear, because it costs 6 credits/call with RiteKit, and Brandfetch prices by calls, RiteKit by credits, with the cheapest usable tier of each:

Brandfetch’s pricing: 5,000 company logo requests/month, US$129/month
RiteKit’s pricing: 16,666 company logo requests/month, US$99/month

Both Brandfetch and RiteKit offer access to other APIs on the same token, both for additional credits or calls.

Company Logo Quality Points

Most choose RiteKit for the generated fallback logos that Brandfetch does not provide at all, transparent background (so they look great on any background), far more logos (and getting new ones on-the-fly), and because RiteKit does not require attribution.

This is why Clearbit can be free for company logos:

Scroll half-way down the page in https://clearbit.com/logo to find this

RiteKit Company Logo is provided whitelabel (no attribution required). With Clearbit, while free, you must attribute the logo to Clearbit and in every place you use a logo from Clearbit. With RiteKit Company Logo API, there’s no need. The result is something you can use professionally.

WHAT’S MORE: Combine the RiteKit Company Logo API with other endpoints in our Person Insights, Company Insights section and other sections to generate user profile pages, rich snippets and much more! Use as many of our 23 Endpoints as you like on one API tier to get the most out of your tier.

Why RiteKit over other company logo and data enrichment solutions?

No staff or customer photos, no gravatars, just actual company logos

RiteKit doesn’t naively assume that every profile image on social media is a logo. If it detects a photo, it keeps looking harder for an actual logo.

Background removal

You will need company logos to look right within your web pages and app screens, and even as you iterate your UI appearance. The only way to assure that you achieve this is to use logos with a transparent background. However, very few logos actually come with a transparent background. Only RiteKit can automatically make the background transparent right on the fly.

Fallback logo when no logo is found

What to do for consistency throughout your site and mobile app screens when the company or organization does not, in fact, have a logo on their domain? Only RiteKit generates a fallback initial-based logo, and it does this with the company’s brand colors.

Brand colors: does that API get them too?

Most company logo APIs do not include these, though they help with generating user profile pages, company profile pages and customized experiences. BrandFetch can do this, but at an added cost and a separate API call; RiteKit includes an array of the brand colors used on the domain’s index page and does it in the same API call.

Custom logo sizes: can I get that in a size that’s sight for my site, app, CSS?

Volume of logos

RiteKit extracts a logo from any website on the fly which means you get one even for the most obscure and new sites.

The big difference that the RiteKit API provides is already having any company or organization’s logo at-the-ready. If you’ve got their domain from email, such as tim@somecompany.com, you can have their logo with RiteKit. If you want transparent background logos from the newest startups and small businesses, RiteKit Company Logo is your choice.

See https://ritekit.com/api-demo/company-logo (test it without registration, right in the demo dashboard).

RiteKit Reliability

The RiteKit Company Logo API not only has most company logos ready and updated frequently, when you query with a domain for which we don’t have the logo — our machine goes out and gets it. This is what makes it the most dependable.

Transparent background

Most company logo APIs provide logos exactly as they were scraped from the social media accounts mentioned on a site. RiteKit gets real logos from the site in higher quality and makes their background transparent. This makes the logos look good on any background, not just white.

See https://ritekit.com/api-demo/company-logo (test it without registration, API key or reading documentation).

With any tier of the RiteKit API, you can get 23+ solutions with one API token, pay one price

With the RiteKit API, you can access numerous analytic and functional value-add endpoints, such as text-to-image generation, and get them all in one price tier.

There’s the free tier (100 credits/month), and Tier 0 provides 100,000 credits/month. In any tier, you can both access the Company Logo endpoint (6 credits/call), and also provide value-adds for your customers and users with our other endpoints that:

  • Make good products stickier: reduce customer churn and keep your customers/visitors longer with value-adds that make your app or SaaS product impossible to do without. Our API includes endpoints for hashtag suggestions, text to image generation and other functions that can be delivered to your customers.
  • Upsell: auto-hashtagging, auto emoji and banned Instagram hashtags filtering help with selling higher product tiers, when used as differentiating factors.

Get the most out of your RiteKit API tier

Combine the RiteKit Company Logo API with other endpoints in our Person Insights and Company Insights sections and other sections to generate user profile pages, rich snippets and much more! Use as many Endpoints as you like on one API tier to get the most out of your tier.

Examples:

  • Start with Freemail Detection to only call Company Logo and other Company Insights solutions, to filter out bad emails.
  • Generate static or animated GIF images from text in pages of only your best sales prospects, after filtering through the Freemain Detection endpoint.

Some of RiteKit’s most-combined endpoints:

Company Name to Domain
Company Logo
Company Brand Colors
Freemail Detection
