What the F is Apple doing? A prediction on WTF Apple is actually doing.

Were you also surprised by Apple’s $1000-smartphone-monster? I’m confident, that Apple has more plans for this iPhone. It will be able to do more, than what it can do today. And that is what will justify the price eventually.

For many years, I’ve been amazed by Apple’s work. I was amazed by their constant innovations, their way of doing marketing and when that iPhone was released. OH! Was that something.

But in recent years Apple has failed to amaze, like they used to. I actually got to a point where I was like: “WTF is Apple doing?!”.

But there is a reason why Apple haven’t amazed for a few years. Apple is working on something big. So — without further ado. Let’s have a look at my predictions for Apple.

Why does a iPhone X cost $1000?

The brand new, shiny iPhone X. It seems like a lot of people — myself included — really likes the new iPhone X. But that price though. $1000. That’s a lot for a smartphone. But is this really a smartphone? No! At least not for long. And that brings us to my prediction: The iPhone X is not a smartphone, it’s a replacement for your Macbook.

Stay with me here. The iPhone X is without a doubt the best iPhone ever created — maybe even the best of all phones on the market (depending on your religion). But what really got me thinking, was why the hell Apple would make it so powerful in terms of CPU. Apple’s A11 chip is powerful. In fact, it is so powerful that the iPhone X match MacBook speeds. Why? Because this is not a smartphone. This is a personal device.

So what is a “personal device”? Hang on. Let’s take a step back. It wouldn’t surprise me, if Apple soon released a brand new, revolutionary, all aluminium, ultra-retina display — that connects with your iPhone X, wirelessly. And of course it’s always connected to your keyboard and touchpad.

Also, note the small, but very important changes Apple is making to iOS:

The new dock on iOS 11 — seems familiar?

The new dock, the “Files”-app, drag and drop, multitasking features, etc. All of this reminds more of features you find on a computer, than on a smartphone, wouldn’t you say?

Oh! Did I mention that Apple is indeed working on a new display, that should come out in 2018? It seems like everything adds up, doesn’t it?

Have you tried using an iPad Pro with a keyboard and the latest iOS 11? If not, you should. I’m telling you; Apple is turning iOS into macOS. And they are getting there. Soon.

So there you have it. Your smartphone aka personal device. A device you carry with you at all time. And I haven’t even mentioned the upcoming AI-machine in your pocket. I mean your personal assistant. No, your personal device. I’m getting confused. But what I know for sure, is that Siri’s artificial intelligence will become better over time. And that’s also one of the reasons why Apple needs such a powerful chip in the iPhone X. Because AI requires processing power. A lot of it.

And it does make sense. Oh, it makes A LOT of sense. Think of having your computer and your personal assistant with you at all times. Wherever you go. Think of having just ONE multi-purpose device that can handle almost everything you need. Think of coming home, sitting down in front of your Apple display (with your phone in your pocket) and boom! There is your computer (or whatever your will call it) right where you left it.

Should I make just one more prediction? Something outrageous? Do you know about the “Project Titan”-rumours? Well, Apple has hired (mainly) ex-Tesla engineers because it’s working on an autonomous transportation system.

Okay — so imagine this: What if you in the future just connect your iPhone X to your car and Siri starts to drive? Siri probably knows where you are going already. So why not? Okay, maybe a little bit to outrageous right now?

I’ll let you decide.
