1. Know about your downtimes

This one is pretty straight forward as everyone should know when their blog/service/homepage goes down and take some pro-active steps to remediate this in the future.

With Hastli you can collect the metrics you need to send to your provider proving that your service availability is below the agreed SLA (whatever it may be).

Let’s play this out — if your service provider has an SLA of 99.9%, this would mean the following:

  • Daily: 1m 26.4s
  • Weekly: 10m 4.8s
  • Monthly: 43m 49.7s
  • Yearly: 8h 45m 57.0s

To put it bluntly, it would mean that your service can have a downtime of one and a half minute daily by the agreement that you have with your provider. If your provider has one additional 9 in the list, this one and a half minutes would tone down to 8.6 seconds daily.

So from this, you can clearly see that adding one comma to the SLA changes the uptime picture drastically.

2. Proactively optimize your website

Hastli provides you the information about issues regarding different parts of your website loading times and deep analysis into what your website is serving to your customers.

Why would this be useful for you?

Let’s play this out — You have an e-shop that hosts many products with different images and elements — Hastli crawls through them and gives you indications on which images you should make smaller so that your users would have faster load-time for your end-users. We also catch any included script load times, so you can optimize any inclusions as well!

3. Get long term visibility into your web stability

We, at Hastli believe in trend-based monitoring, so in essence, we give long periods for data retention out of the box for all accounts, which enables you to track any changes made in the premises of your online presence. By having trend lines and long term visibility you’ll see the thing that matters the most to your customers — is your service as reliable as they want it to be.

Let’s play this out — If you see an increase of loading times for your website you can seek for optimizations on your web or consider tweaking something else — like change your hosting provider.

4. Get notified when stuff hits the fan

Staying in the loop is essential, so alerting on actionable events is a must. This is the key reason we have decided to ship our product with native applications to your handheld companion, so while you’re busy growing your business, we could notify you at the right time, when something goes sideways.
