Is it time already for another edition of Snapshot? With everything we are working on to kick off Q3, you bet it is!
It’s halftime for 2021, and this match’s second half looks very promising for some top action. If you missed the last few weeks in Hathor Network, we’ve just set the stage to bring about all of the implementations we’ve been working on. It would be absolutely nuts to miss what’s just around the corner.
Enough talk, let’s dig into it!
Dr. Hathor Green Thumb
Moving to Mars sounds cool, and all but the team at Hathor Network love it here on our green rock. We’re all for interplanetary real estate; we don’t want to get any red dust on our sneakers.
The heavy carbon footprint caused by BTC mining has been enough to deter certain prominent individuals and institutions from placing more of their assets into a larger cryptocurrency portfolio. It isn’t always easy staying sustainable while innovating for the future and big problems require big solutions. However, this doesn’t mean that it shouldn’t be profitable for anyone to help solve them.
We’re here to water down the recent FUD surrounding PoW-based cryptocurrencies and show you why it can be profitable to mine with green energy.
Presenting our response to any doubt whether Blockchain could be the future: Hathor Green.
Hathor.Green is the first initiative from Hathor Network to encourage renewable energy practices for Bitcoin mining by rewarding miners that can prove their clean energy sources to mine.
But of course, we brought along a few videos to help explain how it works and why this is huge for Hathor Network.
Could you not go without watching them?

Hathor Network joins Messari Registry
This comes as a huge milestone for Hathor Network: after in-depth research conducted by the Messari research, we were approved to be part of the Messari Registry.
Through the Messari Registry, all information of Hathor Network, including reports, diligence, and other kinds of data, will be available for a whole new audience of investors, regulators, and the general public.

Partnership: Hathor Network x Liqi Digital Assets
Liqi Digital Assets, a multi-blockchain asset tokenization platform, is partnering with Hathor Network to add the HTR as a tokenization solution for Liqi’s institutional partners.
Liqi was founded earlier this year by former BitcoinTrade founders and already offers tokenization on Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain.
NFT: (Never Fear the Team)
That’s right, you can always trust our team and our process to help make Blockchain easy for everyone, one game-changing product at a time. But this isn’t the NFT acronym we are talking about. We want to talk about 9Block’s new NFT platform built on Hathor Network!
With more than 42.5 M subscribers on his Youtube Channel, Mega-Influencer Felipe Neto has just dropped a splendid collection of his own Non- Fungible Tokens available on the 9Block Platform, built on Hathor Network.
This is officially the first NFT implementation on our network, and it opens up a door to a vast world of possibilities to come. Those who may not be aware of the different uses for NFTs, these aren’t only limited to trade-card style collectibles. Non Fungible Tokens are also starting to take form as solutions to one of the original intentions of Blockchain technology: Traceability.
The future of NFTs is very exciting, to say the least. We can’t wait to see what other NFT implementations will be built on our network.
Meanwhile, our core dev Pedro Ferreira is working on a technical article to implement our NFT standard for all who want to do it.
Congratulations to Helbert Costa and the whole 9Block team!
Community is Family
One famous fictional street racer seems to believe family is an impenetrable force that can take on any challenge, and we totally agree with him. Our Hathorian community support has proven to be made of the right stuff and continues to be a driving force for the expansion of Hathor Network.
Please don’t take it from us; join our recently officialized regional Hathor Network discussion groups in Russian, Turkish, French, Spanish, and India, in Hindi and English, and see for yourself how quickly the news about our project is spreading.
We also want to shout out to our Community Leaders and Moderators to make this community growth possible. They’re doing a fantastic job.
Community Initiative: Hathor Faucet
Even with tiny payouts, this is a great tool for anyone to play around with HTR and issue their own custom tokens. Give it a try! Michiel made it a snap of the fingers to use.
Nous Sommes Arrivés à Paris!
Hey Hathor France, did we get that right?
Speaking of amazing communities, the Hathor Labs team will be arriving soon in Paris to network with the biggest names in crypto at the Ethereum Community Conference from July 20th-22nd at Maison de la Mutualité.
We are also excited to announce that we have planned our first in-person meetup since our CTO Marcelo was able to speak in Brazil and since the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns began.
This is big news for our French community and us, as we have been eager to get closer to all of you with offline events for a long time now. It looks like you finally have a chance to discuss what we are building on Hathor Network face-to-face with the team!
Make sure to register here if you happen to be in the vicinity, and drop by to share a drink with us while enjoying a discussion about Hathor Network.
As the vaccine efforts bring fewer restrictions and more ease of travel, we will be planning more meetups worldwide. Do you have a city in mind where you would like to see the next meetup? Reach out to your local Community Leaders for support and evaluate your idea, and we might consider it.
Make way for Nano Contracts.
The community, the team, my neighbors, my dog Blar and Thanos are all dying to see the official launch of Nano Contracts.
Why are we all so eager to learn more about this development? Will it be a game-changer in the industry? Will it allow just about anyone to build solutions on the blockchain without friction? Will it empower a new era of developers to help scale the mass adoption of decentralized systems? Will this be the definitive bridge between Oracles and blockchain?
The answer relies on whoever chooses to build with Nano Contracts. Only until we have passed a full vetting process will we be able to witness the full potential of this innovation. The wait may seem forever, but we are certain that it is worth our every effort.
Meanwhile, I have some great news for our community! Hathor Network CTO Marcelo Brogliato has made a short announcement in our main Telegram chat about bringing our community closer to the initial stages of the development process for Nano Contracts.
“ I’ll release an RFC soon with the details of how Nano Contracts work and some examples. Guto, Andres, and all the others will let you know when it is available. 😉 I’m also working in a PoC that will be used to run a separate Testnet for Nano Contracts in Q3.”
“This Testnet with Nano Contracts will be public and you all will be welcome to join and help us with tests, integrations, use cases, exchanges, DEX, bridges, and all other stuff you’d like to build on top of it.”
This is the ultimate opportunity to be a part of the official launch of Nano Contracts and to help us transform the blockchain landscape for everyone. Great things take time and we always value proper testing over launching prematurely. Nano Contracts are just around the corner and we can’t wait to see all of the amazing use cases for them.
