An Overview of the Process

To customize your hat with your logo, select the hat style, size, and color, and choose the quantity for each. You have the freedom to mix and match hat styles, sizes, and colors. After uploading your artwork and specifying the placement, check out and pay for your order. Our design team will convert your artwork into a digital file and send you mock-ups for your review, feedback, and approval. Once you approve the design, we will begin production and check the quality before shipping it to you. Our typical turnaround time is 10–14 business days from the order date.

Choosing the Right Hat

The first step in creating your custom hat is selecting the style. Each hat type has its own unique features and benefits, so it’s important to pick the one that best suits your needs.

Each hat comes in a variety of available colors, with pricing tables available online based on how many hats are ordered. Once you’ve selected your hat type, you can begin designing it.

The Design Process

HatLaunch’s design tool is easy to use and allows you to fully customize your hat. To begin, choose from HatLaunch’s two primary design types:

1. Embroidery

Nothing says “custom” quite like an embroidered hat. Think of companies like Nike, The North Face, or Under Armor, whose branded hats have now become cultural touchstones.

For embroidery, there are two options — Standard Setup and Premium Setup. If you order 12 or more hats, Standard Artwork Setup is included. However, for orders of less than 12 hats, there will be a one-time charge of $50 for Artwork Setup. Your artwork will be kept on file for future orders.

Before production begins, we will send you a digital stitch preview for feedback and approval. We test stitch every design to ensure quality. For orders of 36 or more hats, Premium Artwork Setup is included for free.

  • Standard Setup includes a Digital Stitching Mockup, one round of revisions, and a physically tested stitch-out approved by us.
  • Premium Setup includes a Digital Stitching Mockup, unlimited revisions, and physical test stitch-out photo(s) for your approval.
Our team carefully digitizes your logo to create a custom embroidery blueprint.

Note: Designs may include up to 15 different colors, but we suggest minimizing the number of colors for better results. HatLaunch exclusively uses high-quality Madeira 100% polyester thread.

2. Patches

If your design is too detailed for embroidery, you might consider opting for a patch.

Leather patches are available in either brown or black, and can be a circle, square, oval, diamond, hexagon, or even a custom shape.

Once you choose the design style, the color, and shape, you can choose where you want the artwork placed on the hat. For Centered Designs, our standard size is 2.3" tall and 4.2" wide while maintaining the design’s proportions. The maximum embroidery field size is 6.3" wide by 2.3" tall. For Offset Designs, we can use a maximum of 2.3" tall and 3" wide on the side panel, again while keeping the design’s proportions. If you require different dimensions than our standard, you can specify during the order process.

Back Stitching

If you would like text added to the back of the hats, you can do so during the order process. There is a $5 charge per hat for back stitching .Keep in mind that the text must be the same on all hats.
