At Havas, our mission is to make a meaningful difference to brands, businesses, and people. The success of our mission hinges on the environment we create for our employees. An environment that is supportive of all people and grounded in respect is fundamental to doing great work for our clients and delivering on our meaningful commitment.

Launched in 2018, All In is Havas’ global approach to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). All In engages all levels of the organization by enabling ownership of local and regional actions and initiatives, while also participating in global programming.

The net result is engagement around the world in a wide range of DEIB initiatives including Education & Awareness, Mental Health, Industry Access, Ethnic & Cultural Representation, LGBTQ+ Inclusion, and Women & Gender Equality. In 2023, 180+ actions took place across 56 agencies and 42 countries.

We are making progress in celebrating the richness of our talent and are seeing some great impact around the world.

On this blog, we feature stories, employee spotlights, and other coverage of the many global, regional, and local initiatives taking place throughout the year.

Take a look at a sampling of some local actions to date:

Highlights Around the Globe

SPAIN

Mental Health & Wellness: “Cabezas Con Alma”

Havas Spain developed Cabezas Con Alma (Heads with Soul), a creative solution to help managers and employees prioritize mental wellness, relate to one another, and de-mystify mental health in the workplace. The agency commissioned Spanish illustrator and writer 72kilos to design a sticker pack that employees display on their devices and notebooks to reduce the stigma around mental health and create a more compassionate culture.

FRANCE

LGBTQ+ Inclusion: Other Circle Charter

In 2023, Havas Village France became a signatory to the L’Autre Cercle LGBT+ Engagement Charter. This is a concrete commitment actively contributing to advancing LGBTQ+ inclusion in the professional world. Over a period of three years, the Village will raise awareness and train teams, creating a respectful work environment, supporting internal LGBTQ+ and ally networks, and taking into account the specificities of LGBTQ+ individuals in human resources management. This includes awareness workshops, roundtable discussions, and other actions during Pride Month.

CHINA

Disability Inclusion: Special Internship Program

Havas China and the Special Art College, Shanghai Institute of Technology jointly launched the “Special Internship Program” to support students with deafness and hearing impairments. From June 2022, they worked with the China Disabled Federation to offer opportunities and support to these students.

MALAYSIA

Women: Returning Mothers’ Nursery

Havas Malaysia refurbished a nursery for new mothers returning to work. The room is a wonderful statement of support of new working mothers, as well as a reminder of the need to respect the schedules of mothers returning to work.

UK

Mental Health & Wellness: Havas Equalise

Mental health is a top priority at Havas Village London. As part of its broader wellbeing program, Havas Equalise, the agency established its very own Wellness Lounge — a dedicated, technology-free space to help staff switch off and take time away from technology and screens during the working day. In this space they offer a series of trainings to educate and support employees on issues regarding mental health. Leadership also undergoes a full day of training to learn how to incorporate mental health into agency strategy.

NORTH AMERICA

Racial Representation: Black at Work

Established in Chicago and now celebrated throughout North American agencies, Black at Work explores the lack of representation in certain jobs, which in turn limits black professionals aspiring to those roles. Through a series of installations, agency events and learning experiences, the Black at Work team raises awareness and offers space for conversation and education.

SOUTH AFRICA

Cultural representation: Heritage Day

In a cross-agency celebration, Havas Johannesburg hosted Heritage Day on September 20, a public holiday in South Africa. Many employees participated by dressing in clothing and sharing a dish that is significant to their culture. Johannesburg is an incredibly diverse city and this celebration allowed for open discussions and learning about the various cultures and communities.

All In initiatives are informed by local agency/Village representatives who are appointed to lead in achieving their specific areas of focus. The reps are connected to the pulse of the culture of their agency or village and work with senior leadership and local HR teams to scope, design and execute All In actions. Reps also connect to share best practices and help other agencies launch similar programs. Trends are then amplified throughout the organization — causing transformations that impact locally and resonate globally.
