there is a way.

If you need something, just ask. Stay connected, stay focused and we give you the tools you need.

Just make it happen

Havas has its own editing and shooting team called Studio 6.

Very helpful for videos and photography, whether it is for an layout or for the final pice. You have an idea, they help you make it real.

Citibank works a lot with direct mail. Therefore it’s very important to have a mockup studio, with the very talented Scott. He helps during the creative process with the complicated die cuts and popups.

Workspace

Everything contributes for you to stay inside the office. It is very common to see people carrying around their laptops to sit in different areas, whether it is for a group meeting or just to concentrate by yourself.

Lunchtime

This photo was an event that Havas promoted for a project

Lunch is something fast and quick so that you can keep working. Even meetings are scheduled around lunchtime. Very different from Brazil, where lunch is a social event, which you go out for a long meal. At Chicago many people don’t even leave the office to eat. Each floor has a kitchen and plenty of places to stay in. It is also common to see people eating at their desks. 2 our 3 times a week restaurants install a small buffet where they sell their meal. It is not an obligation the stay at the office, it is more an invitation.

Server Access

The access to the server is very well designed. It is organized by groups of clients and you have easy access to all the information that you need. So you don’t lose time trekking down fonts, logo, brand identity guide or older works, they are all easy to find.

Assignment / Meetings / Checkpoints

Same as in Brazil, we start a project with a briefing. Account, creative directors, copy and art directors meet to the kickoff the project. The same assignment is given to 2 or 3 creative teams. What I found very interesting are the checkpoints. Even when we have 2 or 3 creative teams working on the same project, we present them together to the creative directors, so we all know what each group is doing. It is interesting and collaborative working this way. In Brazil, there is usually only one creative team per assignment, and if there are more working on the same project we usually don’t see each other’s work.

Interns

From time to time, the Chicago office has around 20 interns (account, creatives and planners). They join meetings, take part of assignments and are also an interesting tool to self-promote the agency.

Fun time

Friday’s beer cart.

In week 3 that I'm here, there is always something creative going on.
