The No Worries Mindset.

There is one thing that you will hear a lot in the lucky country*, if not all the time and under any circumstance: “no worries.”

(*Donald Horne’s famous words, today used in numerous ways to describe everything that is great in Australia: weather, lifestyle, geographic situation, landscapes…)

No worries replaces “that’s all right,” “sure thing,” “no problem,” “that’s OK” and “you’re welcome” at the same time. How convenient when your English is still a work in progress!

This might seem trivial but, much more than a well-known term, it is also the reflection of the Australian state of mind, quite different from Europeans’. Indeed, the more time I spend in Sydney, the more I realize how important the “positive lifestyle” is here. Surfing is not enough to get it… it is both a way of talking and a way of living: an attitude and a mindset, based on a pretty simple principle: the less you worry, the less complicated life becomes.

I like that idea.

And the good news is: this also applies to work.

I wouldn’t say the processes are different from ours, but from my point of view, there definitely is an Aussie-something that reflects in their way of thinking.

No worries, just try.
In some way, this mentality allows you to think without boundaries, because everyone is of the assumption that there is a solution, a possibility. Doing something is always better than doing nothing, isn’t it?

No worries, be aware.
The good vibes of Australia help you to stay positive, aware of every new and exciting opportunity. In addition to the habitual processes, you are more than welcome to be proactive and share fresh ideas or inspiring projects of any kind.

No worries, really.
It is a detail that is important in its own way: The work/life balance truly means something here. That’s why playing sports, going out, and taking time for yourself are actually not superficial things to consider; it is both a way of feeling good and finding inspiration.

All of this doesn’t mean that the challenge isn’t real, or that the projects are less intense — far from it! Besides: cause or consequence, Australia is now in its 26th year of consecutive annual economic growth!
