I could say that getting to know a new city is something that I really enjoy. I already feel like home in this city; it feels that I have been here for longer! I even already have my routines and my favorite places in the city. I like working, laughing, having some drinks or visiting cool places around the city.

However, all this would not be possible without people. People build relationships. It’s all based on different kind of relationships; friendships, business relationships, personal relationships and even social relationships.

Relationships are crucial for our well-being and happiness. People are happier when they are with other people than when they are alone. Happiness may be contagious!

Hence, we socialize. We try to figure out stuff together, it is much easier, right?

Our life and our jobs help us to understand who we are and how we feel. Friends and family encourage and support us. Even when we want to make a purchase we check or share it with people.

Most consumers trust earned media, such as recommendations from friends and family, above all other ways of advertising.

Consumers prefer to be in contact with people, rather than brands. We like when a person addresses us, we find it more credible and we pay more attention to her/him than to a brand.

For that reason, brands tend to have a brand ambassador who shares the brand´s values and connects with their audience.

Brands need to build relationships in order to succeed in such a constantly changing industry.

Both brands and retailers are turning towards influencers as major marketing channels.

Recently, Xennials, Millennials and Gen Z say that they trust influencers over brands or celebrity endorsements.

Even with all the convenience that consumers are offered, for example, by Amazon Echo and Google Home, we also need to communicate with them and create a relationship with them.

Our industry is continually evolving. Imagine that one day Carolina Herrera launches a new perfume collaborating with influencers and the audience of these influencers can actually smell the scent of that new CH perfume, or moreover, if an influencer can actually make recommendations while you make a purchase in real life. — How cool would that be?

By late 2018, every brand will have an influencer representative. Nowadays, we just say ‘influencer’ however, this influencer title will be divided by hierarchy starting from an influencer intern, influencer lead, vice president, director, etc.

Here are w some social tips to keep in mind for 2018: https://www.entrepreneur.com/article/300813#

I will just end by leaving you with a piece of our monthly “First-Friday” meeting at The Havas Chicago Village!

Enjoy & happy day!
