Third Week in Paris: Exploring More of Vivendi’s Offerings with BETC
One of the best opportunities in the Lofts program is not only getting to explore other teams with Havas Media, but also getting to explore and learn about other creative teams. Last week, I had the chance to go to the BETC village in Paris. The BETC village is located about 40 minutes away from the Havas Media office in Puteaux.
BETC is a creative advertising agency that was founded in 1995 with offices in Paris, London and São Paolo. Just from entering the doors at BETC, you could tell this was a very creative space. Their lobby contains an open area that is used for various art galleries throughout the year. The gallery is used to support artists from all over the world, helping them get exposure. The vibe of the office is very creative, with decorative meeting rooms and abstract furnishings. The office, modeled after Swedish architecture, even has an outdoor pathway to walk from building to building to allow employees to be outside to take a break, calls or just get some fresh air.
Because the office isn’t centrally located, the office building has several enhancements to help the employee’s needs. The “cafeteria” is a fast-casual dining experience with fun decorations to make employs feel like they are eating out, and not at their office. Employees are able to select their meal, pay on their phone and update where they are sitting in the open space, so the food can be brought to them, all on their mobile devices. Also, the company has a full gym for employees to use at their disposal.
BETC has many offerings working in podcasts, music, social, video and much, much more. While on our visit to BETC, there was a company held concert for the band “Her,” because they had worked with the agency in the past. All the employees gathered around to listen to the band play a few songs, followed by drinks to mingle with coworkers and the band.
