Fall is finally here! And you know what that means…Pumpkin Spice. Everything. From PSL’s (Pumpkin Spice Lattes) at Starbucks to pumpkin spice candles, cookies, etc. There are more and more products coming out every year!

However, pumpkin spice lattes remain as one of the most popular seasonal drinks! PSL’s started out at Starbucks and have made their way to Dunkin Donuts, McDonald’s as well as other coffee shops and restaurants.

One sip of this magical drink and you will be in love. It is like tasting fall in a cup. It’s the pumpkin and cinnamon flavor that attracts and brings out the “basic girls” in all of us. Because we all know that the basic girl’s fall essentials are Ugg boots, yoga pants, and a PSL in their hand.

The original Starbuck PSL’s are made from: milk, pumpkin spice sauce, brewed espresso, whipped cream, and vanilla syrup, (along with a bunch of other ingredients in between that we don’t know how to pronounce) topped with whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon. But in case you are not willing to spend almost $5 for it, you can make it at home too!

“Quick Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe”

All you need to do is:

  1. Whisk 1/2 cup milk, sugar, pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract in a small saucepan over low heat. Simmer for 5 minutes. Whisk in remaining 1/2 cup milk.
  2. Pour milk mixture through a fine-mesh sieve to remove pulp. Return milk mixture to saucepan and simmer, whisking, 2 minutes. Add espresso and whisk until foamy, 1 minute.
  3. Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!
