Changing her vocal style with each album, Demi Lovato released her sixth studio album last month (September 29th) Tell Me You Love Me. Looking back at her old work Lovato has truly grown and found her voice in this new album. The 1st single off the album Sorry Not Sorry pulled the hearts of all and has been sung by people of all ages; the up-beat single and video is fun to watch and listen to. TMYLM has already made a breakthrough on the charts with Sorry Not Sorry peaking at number 6 on The Billboard Top 100. With the R&B tone and vibe Tell Me You Love Me is sure to grab the attention of some new fans.

The title track on the album Tell Me You Love Me is an emotional song that has a slight upbeat to it. Lovato uses a choir to her advantage to add a different vibe to the tune. The song holds the message that everyone needs somebody at some point. Lovato sings, “You aint somebody till you got somebody. You aint somebody till you got somebody”. Tell Me You Love Me has been released at the second single.

25-year-old Lovato who was once a Disney star continues to show how far and long her vocal range runs throughout the album. In particular, You Don’t Do It For Me Anymore and the third single released on the album is a very strong contender that proves that fact. Although as a whole this collection of songs are very different from her past there is a little piece of old Demi in the piece. Daddy Issues is a very pop rock song which was Lovato’s style for majority of her past albums.

Demi also gets a lending helping hand from known rapper Lil’ Wayne for Lonely , the low and deep vibe is appealing to the ears for this all-star collaboration. The compilation also carries two other collaborations, Instructions and No Promise . In Instructions featuring Jax Jones and Stefflon Don, Lovato gets in touch with a Hispanic roots and creates a blend of voices with the two men, adding to her diversity level. No Promises is an acoustic track on the album that is more of a duet. Cheat Codes and Lovato go back and forth and overlap their voices creating another dynamic for this complete piece.

Tell Me You Love Me is a solid album to add to her collection of work. Overall, as an artist she is expanding herself and is showing she is more diverse than Hollywood gives her credit for. When it comes to music Lovato cannot mess up. Lovato has done an amazing job rebuilding herself from her slight downfall she had with drugs and her bipolar disorder. Since rehab Lovato has changed her life and her music around. In the New Year Lovato will be on tour for her album with DJ Khaled.
