Summer may be over but that doesn’t mean your wardrobe has to suffer. Keep those tanks, shorts, and dresses out and rework your wardrobe into a fall friendly style with these tips.

  1. It’s all about layers.

Add warmth to your look by adding on some extra layers. Try adding some tights to your wardrobe and extend the life of your favorite summer clothes. Not only do tights add warmth but they also come in a variety of colors, patterns and textures you can add to almost any outfit. Mix and match different colors and make your own fashion statement, you can’t go wrong.

If tights aren’t your thing try leggings. Leggings provide thicker materials some of which even look and feel like jeans. Like tights, leggings are soft and can stretch to fit any body type perfectly.

2. Add a jacket that makes a fashion statement.

Still have summer shirts you want to continue to wear? No problem. Jackets can be a lifesaver when it comes to colder weather. The trick is finding a jacket you can pair with all your summer clothes no matter the color and texture. If not, you may be spending hundreds of dollars on jackets for each season.

Consider finding a leather jacket that matches you and your style. Look for a leather jacket that is unique and stylish that people around you may not have. Leather jackets are very popular, so find one that speaks to you.

If leather isn’t your thing try looking into a classic trench coat. Look for darker and neutral colors like grey, light brown, or dark blue since these are colors that can go with almost any outfit.

3. Scarves

Scarves can be your best friend. You can pair a scarf with any outfit you wear. They not only provide great coverage for your neck on colder days but they can also be what makes an outfit come together. Scarves come in all shapes and sizes. Some may be shorter then others and some may not even have an end like infinity scarves. Buy a few scarves that match your style and use them to make a fashion statement.

4. Buy Boots

Boots are a great have when it comes to wearing summer clothes in the fall. They can be worn with almost any outfit and add style to your wardrobe. For an easy go to look try wearing your favorite short dress with knee-high boots and a leather jacket. Or for a more dressed up style try pairing your favorite shorts or skirt with your favorite cardigan, knee-high socks and ankle boots.

Buying the right pair of boots can be tricky. High quality boots can cost you a fortune and cheaper qualities may not last you very long. Instead of buying expensive high quality boots go for less expensive, comfortable and fashionable boots to get you through the fall. Don’t worry about if your boots will last into the winter. Buying cheaper fashionable boots can prolong the life of your summer and fall outfits without the heavy cost of higher quality boots that may not be as fashionable when it comes to looks.

Many of us love summer and the warm weather. But just because summer is over doesn’t mean you have to say goodbye just yet. Follow these simple tips and get the most out of your wardrobe without buying new clothes. Just because the weather is changing doesn’t mean you have to right away.
