Q&A with Eddy Grant, Author of the Famous “Electric Avenue” Tune

Q: Seriously, Eddy, what’re we gonna do?

A: We gonna rock down to Electric Avenue.

Q: And then what?

A: And then we take it higher.

Q: Can we take it higher before rocking down to Electric Avenue?

A: No. We’re going to rock down to Electric Avenue and THEN we’ll take it higher.

Q: But, if we rock down to Electric Avenue and then take it higher, aren’t we actually doubling back?

A: Meaning … ?

Q: That is to say, why can’t we just rock directly to the final location above Electric Avenue instead of rocking all the way down to Electric Avenue and then coming back up again?

A: Because that’s S.O.P. First we rock down to Electric Avenue and then we take it higher. We clear on that soulja?
