The Psychology Behind Belief
It’s fascinating how conspiracy theories captivate the human mind. For many, believing in conspiracy theories offers a sense of superiority, a feeling that they’re "in the know" while the rest of the world is left in the dark. But I believe there’s an underlying dynamic to this thing.
People who subscribe to these ideas often do so out of envy. They are drawn to the narrative that successful individuals or institutions are part of some hidden agenda. In their minds, these theories justify why they have not achieved success or why the world seems unfair. It’s easier to believe that there’s a hidden hand manipulating events rather than accepting that hard work, timing, or innovation leads to success.
In my view, many of these individuals are primitive thinkers, lacking foresight and unable to grasp the complexities of modern life. They want easy answers to complicated questions. Conspiracy theories provide a simplified, albeit false, explanation for the world’s problems.
