The Overlooked Gratitude: What We Forgot to Celebrate Through the Power of Reflection
Life has a way of surprising us with little blessings—subtle changes we don’t always notice until we pause and reflect. These unnoticed blessings are what I call “The Overlooked Gratitude.”
In this article, I’ll share two personal stories and one general example of these overlooked blessings. I’ll also explore how recognizing them can unlock the spiritual and psychological blessings tied to gratitude.
You’ve probably heard the quote: “Remember the things you have now that you once prayed for.” Honestly, this is one of the most realistic quotes ever. It was the inspiration behind my reflection this morning, and I couldn’t help but pen down my thoughts immediately.
My Mom’s Entrepreneurial Challenges
My mom is a trader, and for the past 13 years, she’s run a frozen foods business—selling chicken, turkey, fish, and more. In the beginning, it was smooth sailing. She was one of the few people (if not the only one) selling such products in our area.
But if you know anything about the frozen foods business, you know one thing: electricity is non-negotiable.
Around 2013, just two years in, the power supply in our area became unstable—terrible, to be exact. Without consistent electricity, her frozen goods began to spoil. We had no choice…
