We talk about mental health every day.
There’s awareness. People are sharing their stories all over the world. There are seminars, books, podcasts, interviews, platforms offering free therapy sessions—you name it. And I love that the conversation is gaining the attention it deserves.
But we’re not there yet.
Sure, more people are becoming aware every day, but there’s a side of depression that I don’t think we talk about enough.
It’s the part where you can’t even do the basic things.
Yes, I know it gets mentioned here and there, but I believe it isn’t emphasized enough. Because this is real. People battling mental health issues often find it hard to do the simplest things—things we all take for granted.
I’m talking about the days you can’t get out of bed. All you do is binge on social media, or you just lay there—staring into space, sleeping, or thinking about how messed up your life feels. Getting up takes more than motivation. It takes willpower, discipline, and maybe even grace.
And the irony? The things that could help you feel better—like writing, exercising, or hanging out with friends—become the hardest to do. You love to write because…
