Kyle (Patrick Fugit), Bob (M.C. Gainey) and Simon (C. Thomas Howell) pay a visit to the sole survivor of Rome’s possessions 30 years ago. Emboldened by his new “army,” Anderson (Philip Glenister) decides to help Giles (Reg E. Cathey) round up the possessed. Simon attempts to convince Kyle to make the ultimate sacrifice in order to rid Rome of its dark forces for good.

Kyle (Patrick Fugit) is ambushed by an old foe en route to help Giles (Reg E. Cathey), who’s worried that Rose (Charmin Lee) is showing the first signs of possession. Allison (Kate Lyn Sheil) and Amber (Madeleine McGraw) go missing from the motel where they’ve been hiding out. Anderson’s (Philip Glenister) battle with Sidney (Brent Spiner) comes to a head. Kyle receives shocking news about his long-estranged father, Simon (C. Thomas Howell).

Sidney (Brent Spiner) shares details about his kind’s long history on Earth. Bob (M.C. Gainey) shows Kyle (Patrick Fugit) grim evidence of his father’s tactics 30 years ago.

After Kyle (Patrick Fugit) hastily leaves town with Allison (Kate Lyn Sheil) and Amber (Madeleine McGraw), Megan (Wrenn Schmidt) seeks refuge among Dakota’s (Madelyn Deutsch) flock, while Anderson (Philip Glenister) grows increasingly suspicious of her motivations. Giles (Reg E. Cathey) becomes a person of interest in Rome’s most recent murder. Sidney (Brent Spiner) falls ill after receiving disappointing news from Dr. Park (Hoon Lee).

In the aftermath of an epic fight to save Giles (Reg E. Cathey), Dr. Park (Hoon Lee) obscures the truth about Kyle’s (Patrick Fugit) condition to Anderson (Philip Glenister), Megan (Wrenn Schmidt) and Allison (Kate Lyn Sheil), while Amber (Madeleine McGraw) discovers she shares some of her father’s special abilities. Sidney’s (Brent Spiner) latest plan gets derailed by his unpredictable protégé. Rose (Charmin Lee) begins to take matters into her own hands after Giles quits the Rome police force.

Allison (Kate Lyn Sheil) considers checking out of the hospital after disturbing encounters with patients and staff. Anderson (Philip Glenister) discovers he shares a connection with the congregants of Dakota’s (Madelyn Deutsch) church. Owen’s (Toby Huss) town-hall meeting for concerned citizens turns chaotic after a surprise announcement.

Disheartened by a confession to Patricia (Melinda McGraw), Anderson (Philip Glenister) ends up being an eyewitness to a possession. Giles (Reg E. Cathey) fends off criticism of his recently overzealous police tactics from Owen (Toby Huss). A distraught Megan (Wrenn Schmidt) seeks an end to her painful memories

After being confronted by the same dark forces plaguing Rome, Kyle (Patrick Fugit) returns to town with his daughter, Amber (Madeleine McGraw), to find a deeply shaken Megan (Wrenn Schmidt), who is stricken by flashbacks of her possession and its dire consequences. Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister) offers to help Patricia (Melinda McGraw) find Aaron, her missing son, and gravitates to a fringe religious service in an abandoned barn. Giles (Reg E. Cathey) tries to convince Mayor Owen Boyd (Toby Huss) to institute a curfew after a newly possessed man evades his grasp. On the advice of Giles, Kyle and Anderson attempt to track down Sidney (Brent Spiner) through his known associates.
