Nominations Follow on Heels of 3 Primetime Emmy Nominations for VICE’s Weekly Newsmagazine Series “VICE on HBO”

VICE News Tonight, the half-hour nightly newscast from VICE Media and HBO, earned 6 News & Documentary Emmy nominations it was announced today by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences

VICE’s original nightly newscast for HBO netted 6 nominations in just its first year on air. The nominations are for the following segments:

Outstanding Continuing Coverage of a News Story in a Newscast:

“Philippines Drug War”

“Retaking Mosul”

Outstanding Feature Story in a Newscast:

“Friday Night Lights”

Outstanding Hard News Feature Story in a Newscast:

“The Rise of Carfentanil”

Best Story in a Newscast:

“Retaking Mosul”

Outstanding Editing: News:

“Philippines Drug War”

Adapting to the world we live in today, VICE News Tonight abandons the anchor and news desk format for a reimagined and modern approach to the nightly news, featuring cutting-edge graphics and animations, long-form field pieces, newsmaker interviews and more. The show experiments with a flexible and diverse approach to reporting the nightly news in the most credible and impactful way possible.
