New HBUS Vice President of Corporate Development, Jay Ryu, Joins Us From Draper Athena

It’s my pleasure to announce that HBUS has appointed Jay Ryu as Vice President of Corporate Development where he’ll lead our mergers and acquisition team. He joins us after more than seven years at Draper Athena, where he served as Venture Capital Director, leading technology investments across Silicon Valley, Asia, and the Middle East. Having worked closely with Tim Draper, a long-time advocate of blockchain technology and Bitcoin, Jay has a unique perspective and experience that we value and will utilize at HBUS.

Jay’s mix of investment experience and business development will help us identify companies that can help us as we become the top digital currency marketplace in the U.S. He also has strong Bay Area roots and connections, having degrees from both UC Berkeley and Stanford. At Draper Athena, Jay drove all phases of fundraising, investment, and portfolio leadership across two of the firm’s early stage VC funds.

Previously, he founded Rage Partners, an investment and strategy consulting group representing global family offices and venture-minded investors in the sports, entertainment, and agribusiness sectors. Jay is a Fellow of the Network of Korean American Leaders.
