Before I started this experiment I created a medium account to allow me to post my observation. First, I have selected better design of UI web application from the list because I find it also difficult to browse on the other website. Second I let the three participants to observe the Web API (Application Programming Interface).

Below are the results for the conducted mini experiment:

WEB API #1: http://www.pulcinella.ca/ (Authentic Napoletana Pizza!)

Test user1: Mr. X a Faculty at ADNU, Male.

Mr. X Comments: “Kakaiba siya pero nakakagulo ung heading nya, di ko alam kung saan ako sisimula” “Sino gumawa? Bakit mo pinapatingin ito sakin? May project ka?”

Conducted and collected data: The user got annoyed and disappointed primarily because of the design. The website has so many bugs that load the site slowly. The page consists a scroll layout and the linked page is only for advertising the page. The user experience design confusion due to the placement and navigation input. Familiar icon are used like the facebook, tweeter, and instagram. The font and color of the page is so difficult to absorb by the user.

Analyzed result: From my observation the user takes a lot of minute to understand the page and focuses on the bugs because he doesn’t know where to begin. He is somehow delighted by the background but the navigation, color, font and the design of page has many problems encountered. The web design lacks the following: user experience, interactive design, page layout, and motion graphics.

WEB API #2: http://www.1927events.com/#about (1927 Events, apparently is a private event’s venue. And this is their website)

Test user2: Mr. Y a Middleware Programmer at BlackRock, Singapore, Male.

Mr. Y Comments: “Tet ok baga si site 1927. Responsive si pagkaka design. Pwede mo i view sa ipad, android, phone, mobile and web. Magayon ang design, interactive dai nagbabasag dawa minimize browser. Pero mapagal gamiton, makaribong, saka makulog sa mata ang background. Ika kani nag gibo? Saro sa pinaka the best na responsive UI na dai nababasag maski resize window different browser in Microsoft.com”

Conducted and collected data: I wasn’t able to observe the user because they always ask me if I make the page. The user was amazed in its content but he discovers some problem in the UI content. He considers it as simple and elegant because of its new template.

Analyzed result: In analysis of Web API #3, the user wasn’t available for the observation yet he was able to contribute for the experiment. Furthermore, the user has difficult in the color of the page and he even gave a comment for the test page. Overall result, the page has nice design but needs improvement for better user interactive.

WEB API #3: http://createwhatmattersmost.blogspot.ca/( A blog of Bruce Elkin — a personal life coach, success coach, career coach, writer’s coach.)

Test user3: Ms. Z a staff at ADNU, Female.

Conducted and collected data: It has a simple web design and easily used by the user. The interface is usually easy to adapt. But the user quiet reacts on the screen when the book or file pops out in different direction. The user keeps on asking me if I made the page.

Analyzed result: The user easily catch-up with the user design pattern because its’ simple. Moreover, the user interprets that the page lacks design that needs for improvement in the page layout.

Thanks for reading.
