Our innovation journey: While 90 per cent of today’s population lives in developing countries, the awareness on how to act in a medical emergency and the available support structure around it is extremely low. With over a decade’s experience in running an ambulance service in India, MUrgency was borne out of our understanding of the medical emergency domain and the need for it to be more organized and professional.
MUrgency is a mobile app that aggregates different medical resources on a single platform. Users in need of medical attention have 24/7 access to different emergency responders closest to their location. Our panel of trained and verified medical professionals (doctors, paramedics or nurses) can reach a caller in 10 minutes to stabilise the patient’s condition while an ambulance is still on its way.
Our HealthCode journey: With initial seed funding, we commenced our pilot project in Punjab, India over a year ago. Currently, we are working towards establishing our network in Mumbai and Delhi in the next 3 months. We plan to scale up across the major 50 cities in India in the next 2 years and subsequently expand our services globally too. Our vision is to make emergency response available to anyone, anytime, anywhere by the year 2020, with a special focus on developing countries. On HealthCode, we are looking to aggregate and partner with medical professionals and service providers. I found the HCo platform interesting because I found a network of medical and health professionals willing to offer their expertise or who are themselves looking out for support. It is useful for me to connect with people to partner with, hire or network with.
