Introducing Interlock

What are we working on?

We are working to make functional and fun to make models for both educational and recreational purposes. This will involve taking inspirations from similar companies and building off to find our niche in the market. We want to foster creativity in our consumers by offering interchangeable parts between different kits while still offering the convenience of preassembled kits.

Meet the Team

From Left to Right: Joy Lin, Saba Zerefa, and Stephon Fagan-Avery

Joy Lin

“Joy is a rising sophomore in Adams House studying mechanical engineering and economics. She is known on campus for proclaiming that she will be the Treasury Secretary in the future. For clubs, she stays physically active through archery and quidditch and mentally active through the Harvard Association for the Promotion of Interplanetary Expansion and the Harvard Radcliffe Science Fiction Association. Through quarantine, she has been fighting out the horrors of Hollow Knight with her younger brother.”

Saba Zerefa

“Saba is a rising sophomore in Kirkland House studying electrical engineering with plans to earn an MD/PhD in the future. On campus, she’s actively involved in the Harvard Undergraduate Robotics Club, the VP of the Fallen Angels acapella group, and is the leader of the logistics section of the MakeHarvard Board. In her free time, she can be found tinkering on her motorized bicycle which she made from scratch. Her boundless imagination is only halted by her need for more cinnamon toast crunch cereal.”

Stephon Fagan-Avery

“Stephon is a rising sophomore in Kirkland House. He is concentrating in Chemistry with hopes of becoming a surgeon. Stephon is on the board of MakeHarvard, is part of the Harvard Association for the Promotion of Interplanetary Expansion, and is co-leader of the Anime special interest group of the Harvard Radcliffe Science Fiction Association. He plays D&D campaigns on the weekends as a half-orc barbarian that has a tendency to eat anything that comes his way.”

What are our goals for this summer?

Our primary goals are:

  1. Design. We plan to design our own models from scratch and have some working models of smaller products before moving forwards with more complex structures in the future.
  2. Logistics for production. We plan to determine both the materials necessary for our mechanisms as well as a reliable vendor for production.
  3. Interchangeable parts for the mechanisms. For our mechanisms, we will incorporate parts that can be requested separately to allow for user creativity beyond the predesigned kits.
