What are you working on this summer?

We’re working to best support our first batch of project and startup teams in the Builders Incubation Program. This consists of curating an exciting set of events centered on sparking entrepreneurial drive, providing advice to accelerate our cohort ‘s progress, and enabling creative output through injection of capital. We’re excited to witness and showcase their talents throughout the summer!

Anna Wang

“Anna is a rising junior studying Computer Science who loves building things, from LED prom dresses to incubation programs. On campus, she’s involved with Datamatch and is HCS Director of Community. Anna has had experience working in tech companies including Uber, Expedia, and Microsoft, and is excited to foster the builder’s mindset on campus into new innovative ideas. She has an addiction to sushi and bubble tea that can never quite be fully satisfied.”

Ryan Kim

“Ryan is a rising second-semester junior studying Bioengineering and Computer Science who loves incubating things, from HUVEC cell cultures to hotshot startup ideas. On campus, he leads the Harvard Tech Review and is HCS Director of Business. Ryan has had experience working in variety of companies including Facebook, SIG, Citadel, and Draper Associates, and is thrilled to build groundbreaking ideas alongside this inaugural BIP cohort. Lately, he’s been daydreaming about skydiving and flailing about in his attempt to practice pilates.”

What are your goals for this project this summer?

Our goals are primarily focused around three major points:

  1. Community. Anna and I have always felt that the tech entrepreneurial community at Harvard has been slightly fragmented. Thus, we hope to serve as that hub by cultivating a community of passionate young technologists and builders, who are hungry to create the next generation of tech.
  2. Network. We want to connect top technical undergraduates with mentors currently at high-growth startups and VCs to encourage students to better assess entrepreneurial career paths using informed opinions.
  3. Builder’s Mentality. We want to instill a paradigm for entrepreneurial zeal within Harvard’s campus. In particular, we hope to motivate students to take more contrarian pathways and immediately go out to build a better world.
