Strong Points of Hdac “Friday’’
Dear Hdac community members,
To strive for endless technological development and to add to Hdac’s values, we are currently in the process of developing a new PoS blockchain, “Friday.”
“Friday” is a blockchain that best suits DApp ecosystem, IoT service, and payment service and we expect “Friday” to influence applications in a wide range of ways. We are putting all our efforts to solving the blockchain trilemma.
The main goals of “Friday” are as follows.
• Fast Blocktime
An improvement in platform operation speed due to the reduced time in forming blocks
• Near-instant Finalization
A finalization that is almost instant which gives better security
• High Scalability
Use of a random function for increasing the validator participation
Higher scalability in IoT and payment service
• WASM-based Smart Contract
Simpler and easier adaptation on development language for a higher DApp productivity
For scalability and balanced security, we are trying to make the blocktime(Blocktime: time that is spent on forming blocks) faster. As blocktime is reduced, the platform operation time spent on transactions is reduced as well, this allows near-instant finalization which enforces security.
Also, we have applied VRF(Verifiable Random Function) which selects leaders and validators using random sampling in order to increase the validator participation.
In the long-term, we believe productivity will become important in order to make the platform and DApp function faster and more convenient. That is why we are paying extra care to study VM(Virtual Machine), a technology that will make using smart contract more convenient.
On top of all this, we have chosen WASM(WebAssembly), which is relatively flexible and responsive to various development languages, for a higher DApp productivity. We will continuously add on library and development tools to allow our holders to utilize smart contract in a more convenient way.
