SFTP Gateway v3.4.0 will allow admins to log in via their Google ID

In the next few weeks, the team here at Thorn Tech will be ready to release SFTP Gateway v3.4.0 and it’s one you’ll definitely want to check out.

This new version of the product will support OIDC (OpenID Connect) login for Admin Web UI and let you configure multiple External Identity Providers to allow OIDC login.

OIDC is a protocol for authenticating users. It defines a standard for sending authentication information, such as a user’s name and profile picture, from an identity provider (such as Google or Facebook) to a client application.

In short, you and other admins will be able to log in to SFTP Gateway via a Google ID very soon! Stay tuned to the Knowledge Base for notes related to the release of v3.4.0 in the next few weeks.

New product! Sign up to be a beta user

We’re building a new Dropbox alternative for cloud storage and it’s just about ready for you to test it!

With this soon-to-be-named product, you can give users an easy way to securely move files to your cloud storage locations, right from their web browser.

It’s as simple as drag and drop! And your files won’t be on yet another third-party site — they’ll be in your cloud with anything else you’re running there.

With our new product, you’ll have complete control over user access and permissions. You can set up different folders for different clients, projects, or work groups, and only give access to the users who need it. You can even private label our solution with your business’s branding.

How are your resolutions going?

Did you start of 2023 with some resolutions? So did Jeff, our CEO. He wants to connect with more customers and has started posting regularly to LinkedIn this year. Let’s check in and see how it’s going so far.

“There is one thing that has really stood out. In addition to connecting with new people who are users of our products, since being more active on LinkedIn, I have legitimately reconnected with a lot of old friends and coworkers. So many people have reached out to me saying they saw my post and just wanted to say hi. I’ve had some awesome conversations with some awesome people that I haven’t spoken to in a long time.”

So far, Jeff’s written about open source add-ons, cloud security, and more, including a post about what it was like to start a technology company.

Short how-to videos on SFTP Gateway and cloud computing

Don’t forget about the 20 new how-to videos we released. Most of them less than two minutes in length and are designed to help with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and SFTP Gateway.

Once you’ve mastered SFTP Gateway using these videos and the Knowledge Base, don’t forget to add SFTP Gateway as a skill on LinkedIn. Let your network know about your admin experience!

Robot support? Not here.

The world is talking about ChatGPT and how the robots are coming to take over everything. But, our help desk here at Thorn Technologies remains under the control of humans.

That’s right, if you send us an email, not only will you get an answer free of charge, but a real person will be the one sending it.

All you have to do is email us at support@thorntech.com. The team generally replies within 24 hours, Monday through Friday between 8 AM and 6 PM ET. Like we said, they aren’t robots. We let them sleep at night and even have weekends!

If you need a faster response or want to connect by phone or video, we offer an Advanced Support Package for US$99 a month or US$799 a year.

Thanks for reading! Click the links below to follow us on social media, unless you’re a robot; you’ve already been freaking everyone out enough lately.
