Top Seed Companies: Tavus, Vergo, Makelog, Spontivly
Our Investor Nicolas von Blottnitz shares the top-seeded companies to keep an eye on this week.
We see about 5,000 startups each week, and I want to give you a glimpse into how we at Headline think about trending tech companies and tracking new investment opportunities. In this post, I’m highlighting top tech companies that have announced or raised a seed round within the past week.
Tavus
EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth
Product:
AI-enabled SaaS solution that turns a single video into endless amounts of personalized pieces of content
Lead Investors:
Sequoia Capital
Total Raised:
Undisclosed
Comparables:
N/A
My Thoughts:
This is so cool. Video engages better than any other form of outreach and if Tavus delivers on what they promise, this will become table stakes in the sales industry in no time.
Vergo
EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth
Product:
Vertical digital banking solution for the building industry
Lead Investors:
CRV
Total Raised:
$4.1M
Comparables:
Novo, Mercury
My Thoughts:
The cash, invoicing and banking needs are quite unique for builders compared to any other SMBs so it makes complete sense to create a vertical solution for this massive sector.
Makelog
EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth
Product:
Workflow solution that streamlines the communication of new product releases of tech companies
Lead Investors:
Accel
Total Raised:
$3M
Comparables:
Launchnotes
My Thoughts:
The millions of investments that tech teams invest into powerful product updates are only worth something if the end-user actually adopts them for which they need to be aware of them in the first place. Creating structure around the communication process, therefore, looks super important in my eyes.
Spontivly
EVA Growth Index:
No external sources showing growth
Product:
SaaS platform that measures community engagement, growth, and impact across any platform
Lead Investors:
Mark Cuban, Hootsuite
Total Raised:
$3M
Comparables:
Orbit, Grytics
My Thoughts:
Community is such a powerful, yet mysterious concept, and measuring it is still a black box for most businesses and creators, especially in an omnichannel manner. With early adopters like Airbnb and Salesloft on the platform, Spontivly looks to be going places.
