Taking Hedera DeFi to new heights
HeadStarter recently participated as a Gold Sponsor in Agora’s 10th Global Blockchain Congress event, taking place in Dubai on the 23rd & 24th of November 2022.
Agora’s GBC is a unique crypto event that is exclusively centered towards the visionaries of the crypto world, connecting VC’s, angel investors and startups in an ecstatic setting that is sure to get even the most seasoned crypto enthusiast excited. While hundreds of participants, ranging from Crypto Funds to Governments & Regulators, pour in to this special event, it is still guaranteed that all foot traffic is of people looking to play ball.
To explain this more clearly, Agora’s GBC is a private event, with access reserved for world class VC’s, Exchanges, Crypto Funds, Governments & Regulators, Blockchain Solution Providers, Crypto Influencers, Family Offices and Startups. Not only that, but each participant’s itinerary is prepared beforehand and is based on an impressively efficient and organised system that matches investors with startups based on information provided weeks before the event. Such details include the type of startup that is participating and their fundraising goal, or the appetite of an investor and which kind of projects they are interested in. An easy way to think of it, is as a dating site that segues into a speed-dating event looking to create matches made in heaven.
Over the past 9 editions of the event, Agora has welcomed over 650 investors, 300 speakers and 200 startups, helping raise around $200 million in total.
Given the caliber of this event, it presented a perfect opportunity for HeadStarter to gain exposure and attract investors, not only to the project, but to the Hedera ecosystem as a whole. As part of this call to action, we also brought 2 Hedera blue-chip projects with us to show off their pitch decks. The projects that joined us were Karate Combat and HeliSwap, combining creativity, professionalism and real use cases, which is what many would consider the most important attributes of the Hedera ecosystem.
Furthermore, this experience helps cement relationships with various investors and support the expansion of the HeadStarter Council overlooking our project Accelerator. After all, one of the most important factors that come into play when deciding whether to support a crypto project, is the safety factor. It is reassuring to know that regardless of market conditions, which is what many retail investors rely on, there are serious investors backing a project and providing a comfortable runway that could prevent a premature collapse.
Overall, it was a great experience that provided a refreshing atmosphere, especially having seen the interest in the quickly expanding Hedera ecosystem.
