Ashgourd juice is supposed to be a powerhouse of positive energy and a coolant during the summers. Apart from the fact, that its 95% water and will result in lesser calories overall, it is supposed to make your mind more alert like caffeine does without the symptoms of withdrawal. A promise which many have done but they do not hold good overall!

I have started having Ashgourd juice and within a week I will be able to share how effective has it been for my body. I am craving to lose the 4–5 extra pounds since long and maybe this feels like the ingredient that may enable it faster. You have to drink it empty stomach, first thing in the morning for full benefits. Few benefits are:

  1. Hydration — Since it’s 95% water
  2. Promotes a feeling of fullness resulting in lesser snacking
  3. Ash gourd is a good source of vitamins (C, B1, B3) and minerals ( Calcium and Phosphorous) and antioxidants
  4. Cooling effect
  5. It does have diuretic properties as well and for other medicinal properties of blood sugar regulation, I would advise you consult a doctor.

Recipe for Ashgourd juice without a cold press juicer:

  1. Peel Ashgourd and remove the seeds.
  2. Cut this in cubes and add it to your mixer / grinder.
  3. Add a 250ml of water or more if you want a larger quantity
  4. Sieve it with a siever at home
  5. Ideally one should have it without any herbs added, but because this is a winter melon, if you are prone to cough / cold, don’t forget to add honey / pepper in it to counter the effect.
