A new WHO report reveals a worrying surge in sexually transmitted infections, highlighting setbacks in the fight against HIV and hepatitis while progress toward global health targets falters.

The World Health Organization (WHO) published a 69-page progress and gaps report on 21 May 2024 titled “Implementing the global health sector strategies on HIV, viral hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections, 2022–2030

After reading the report at the weekend, as a public health professional, I decided to spread the word as the message on global epidemics of HIV, viral hepatitis, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) is deeply concerning to me. Yet, it also offers a glimmer of hope and opportunities for all of us to combat this public health issue.
