The Cleaner You Eat, The Less Your Body Tolerates
My Body’s New Sensitivity to Unhealthy Foods

For about a decade now, I’ve been getting cleaner with my diet and becoming healthier. This might sound great, but it comes with a price.
I’ve quit coffee several times, and the phases without it became my new normal. Occasionally, I allowed myself a cup of coffee here and there, but over time, my body didn’t react well to it anymore. This morning, Travis made coffee for both of us (he still drinks it daily), and I had half a cup of black coffee (no milk, no sugar).
My body couldn’t handle it — I almost threw up.
Bread is another interesting example. A few weeks ago, I started cutting out bread and gluten-containing foods in general. My body adjusted nicely — I felt stronger during weight training, and my mind felt even clearer.
Yesterday, I allowed myself to have a bit of bread, and my body reacted with severe sickness, almost as if it was detoxing immediately. I had to drink a glass of bentonite clay, and after that, I felt a little better. At least I didn’t have to throw up.
Alcohol? I haven’t had a glass in 7 years, and I don’t feel the need to try it again to see how my body would react…
