We all know the scene: you’re in a restaurant, trying to enjoy a family meal, or trying to cook dinner at home, but your toddler is on the verge of a meltdown.

Out comes the iPad, and peace is restored. It’s a lifesaver, right?

But at what cost? While digital devices can be incredibly convenient, they come with dangers that can affect your child’s development and well-being.

Ok I know what you are thinking — the thought of weaning them off their iPad is daunting and seems impossible!

As a child psychologist, I am here to take this journey with you! Let’s begin with convincing ourselves why this is an important goal and then some techniques to use to wean our children off screen time.

The Science Is Scary

Think of it like baking a cake: use whole, healthy ingredients, and you get a beautiful, nutritious cake.
