Why You Need to Rethink Your Obsession with Weight Loss

Every Christmas holiday I add an extra ten to fifteen pounds from consuming food I restrict myself from eating in my regular diet.

I get obsessed with counting carbs and weighing food when I go on a weight loss challenge. Plus I keep carbs to a minimum and workout intensely.

Although I don’t diet anymore, sometimes I consciously pick specific diets to help manage my calorie intake.

As I stepped on the treadmill to begin my weight loss challenge to lose the extra pounds I accumulated during the holiday, I began to reflect on how my mindset around my body and well-being could be dangerously affecting my self-esteem.

My belief is that I need to be slim to be beautiful and healthy. And like most people, we are culprits in reinforcing a toxic culture.

I have spent years dieting and obsessively working out because I wanted to lose weight and look the way I imagined in my head.
