Memory Lane Games launches free Digital Healthcare App

Memory Lane Games launches free digital healthcare app with support from the Hospice Isle of Man and local Manx artists. The free app released on all app stores July 14th.

With the current pandemic in mind, this app is designed to be an enjoyed daily distraction and is ideal for those socially isolating. The app is made for eldery friends and family, featuring simple quiz-style games featuring “local nostalgia and familiar places” with artwork from Manx artists and photographers. Included in the app are games on popular topics such as Music, TV, Animals, History, Sports, etc.

You’ll never get bored as new games will be added to the app every week as well as 25+ of the games available in Offline Mode meaning you can play when and wherever you want.

Hospice Isle of Man is set to engage to run proof-of-concept studies on the Memory Lane Games later this year to understand the results for improvements to the lives of dementia patients as well as carers.

The team at Memory Lane Games are currently building games to appeal to the elderly all across the UK, Ireland and Canada. They plan to release 3 digital health apps globally over the next 6 months. Their diverse team consists of Isle of Man-based AI and front-end developers, game designer, historian, clinical trial lead, operations/finance lead and a number of University student contractors.

Then later this summer we will launch our 2nd app, uniquely designed for dementia patients and their families with personalisation, gamification and AI optimisation to increase engagement levels. Peter Quayle, Memory Lane Games’ COO and Cofounder said: “Our digital health start-up has been supported by local angel investors as well as with a grant from the Isle of Man Dept. for Enterprise to support the Island’s Covid-19 response as our app is designed for socially isolating seniors. We’ve actually been very fortunate to have raised more financing during lockdown than prior and are looking to close the remaining £150,000 in our equity seed round in July. But what makes this all really worthwhile for me, personally, has been playing the games with my mum who is 91. We love playing these games together.”
