You already know that exercising is definitely a good thing to do! Losing weight, getting fit, improving your health status, looking fresh and feeling energetic are all related to exercising or doing any kind of physical activity for that matter.
Not only that, but also the endorphins that release after a work-out gives you that happy, positive and feel-good effect. However, are you confused as to which exercise to do or are you bored of the same old routine exercise schedule that you follow each and every day?
So we have some exciting activities and fitness trends to watch for that will encourage you to put on those shoes and get active!

1. High-Tech Fitness:

- Full-size digital screen for fitness workout — The next big thing?
A new technology is in town, a full size digital mirror wherein the customer can not only he himself while working out but the screen suggests how to work out. A personal trainer for the trainee is available in full size on the screen to teach the various exercises and show them exactly how to perform the exercises, the repetitions required etc.

- Fitness Apps and Wearable Technology — The use of fitness apps is at its peak and looks like it is gonna go on forever! These keep a track of your daily work out or any physical activity that you to. Record a lot of data for you which can help you know how you have performed. Suggest workout for you according to your gender, age, activity level and also have video or animation on how to do the suggested exercises.
Wearable technology work more or less in a similar way as mentioned above, however you don’t need to carry your phone all the time — hence more convenient. It includes fitness trackers, smart watches, heart rate monitors and GPS tracking devices. Which again are popular as they can be easily carried on the go and are tuned with today’s fast paced life!

2. Fusion Rowing: Rowing was a hit in 2018. Here’s rowing with a twist. Rowing fusion classes seem to be trending now-a-days. It is a blend of performing rowing strokes with an interval workout on rowing and kinesis machines to improve strength. Experts say that it improves heart rate and also burns a lot of calories!

3. Fresh and Unique Yoga Techniques: There are various forms of yoga practiced worldwide. Trends to watch-out this year in yoga are aerial yoga and yoga retreats! Aerial yoga is a form of yoga that is done with the help of a sling. The benefits of sling yoga is that inverted poses can be done easily as compared to on the floor. For example doing a head down feet-up pose, is difficult to achieve on floor, may put extra strain on neck muscles and cervical spine. But experts suggest that when you do exercises in an inverted position while on a sling, the movements and poses are easier to achieve and there is no strain on your head and neck.
Yoga retreat is organized by various institutes or by fitness/yoga coaches and it involves doing yoga at a particular destination, away from your usual place of living. It is a fun way of performing the yoga poses called yoga asanas and breathing exercises called Pranayama as usually it is done in an open space like a lawn, a garden, a plateau etc. With more oxygen supply at such places and natural scenic beauty around, you feel more energetic and comfortable.

4. Functional Fitness Training: Functional fitness training was very popular last year and is here to stay through 2019 as well. It combines strength training with other activities or movements. It is intended to develop balance, coordination, strength and endurance. All this helps in improving day-to-day actions as well.
For example, it helps improve your stamina to climb up the stairs or standing-up after being seated on the floor for a long time etc.

5. Group Activities: Group training is a popular style of exercising and probably it will ramp up this year. There are many who are not a big fan of one-on-one training due to its monotony or it may even not be affordable for all. So group training comes to the rescue and seems to be promising as well. It induces a spirit of healthy competition and you also get tracked and instructed by a fitness coach. Most importantly, it helps you make use of the liveliness of a group that motivates you to achieve your workout goals!
