Irregular heartbeats signify the condition of unusuality in the rate of the pulses, either low or high or sometimes too early. When a person suffers from an unusual threat concerning the heartbeat, he is more likely to experience specific health issues.

Is it bad to have an irregular heartbeat: Arrhythmia Medications

This medical condition of irregularity in a heartbeat is popularly known as arrhythmia. According to the heart doctors in Chennai, about 90 percent of the health problems arise from the heart, and about 60 percent of the world population experience this health threat once in their lifetime.

There might be several health issues and even lifestyle practices contributing to the irregularity in the heartbeat of a person.

An arrhythmia occurs when the pulses are not able to coordinate or work properly, leading to severe damage to the heart. Some of the early facts of the arrhythmia are subject to a severe breakdown of heart potentials associated with the following symptoms:

● Dizziness, breathlessness, and palpitation

● Chest pain, lightheadedness

● Sudden weakness

● Frequent fainting

● Diaphoresis or sweating

● Trouble in concentrating and confusion

Causes of arrhythmia

Arrhythmia is the direct cause of the interruption in the electrical impulses, thus leading the heart to contract severely. Most irregular heart rhythm involves irregular or skipped beats which can be the outcome of heart diseases, stress or over exercises. An average heartbeat of a healthy person is 60–100 beats per minute while resting. Fitness of a person relies upon the resting heart rate. Therefore correct heart rate is the outcome of a healthy heart. Several factors contributing to the improper functioning of the heartbeat rate are:

● Large intake of alcohol

● Existence of the diabetes condition

● Drug abuse

● Excessive consumption of coffee

● Existing heart diseases like congestive heart failure

● High blood pressure

● Mental stress

● Smoking

● Intake of dietary supplements and herbal treatment

Complications of arrhythmia

The risk factors equally contribute to the initiation of the arrhythmia resulting in later complications such as heart stroke and heart failure, respectively. The growing age of this condition gives rise to further heart complications unless proper medication and treatment are taken on time. List of instances to describe the major health hazard caused by arrhythmia are:

Stroke: Arrhythmia may become the direct outcome of strokes in a way providing the improper pumping of the heart resulting in the formation of blood clots.

Upon dislodging of a single clot that may enter the brain artery, thereby blocking and causing a severe stroke. Heatstroke can sometimes prove to be fatal by causing severe damage to the brain.

Heart failure: Prolonged state of arrhythmia can result in the heart, not pumping the required amount of blood to the body, which can cause heart failure. This can be treated by medications and other treatments.

In case the state of arrhythmia does not stabilize by medications, then it has to undergo a mass surgery known as maze procedure. This surgery implies a series of cuts in the upper chamber of the heart. This surgery aims to retain the heart`s electrical impulses only on specific pathways to correct the heartbeat rate.

Thus one should prevent such a situation for operations by considering the causes and symptoms associated with arrhythmia. You must immediately see a doctor on the occurrence of any of the symptoms mentioned in this article. After all your life worth its cost.
