Cheap and easy weekend plans

Weekends are the perfect time to relax and rejuvenate.

If you’re not feeling super ambitious with your weekend excursions that’s totally okay! Often times, the most relaxing weekend plans are cheap and easy. From spending time with your loved ones to going on neighborhood walks, there are many local options that anyone can do!

Check out this list of weekend plans that are healthy for both you and your wallet:

The classic hike

Look, we know a hike can be an obvious option for a cheap and healthy weekend activity, but it doesn’t mean it should be discounted from the list! It’s great to be able to get out and clear your head and explore. Whether you choose to go solo or invite friends and family, a hike is a maintenance way to get in some exercise! Look up a few parks near you and start exploring!

Window shopping

Yes, window shopping is a great alternative for those who are not intrigued by nature. A neighborhood walk can help you get your steps in and even lead you to a few new local spots! Keep walking until you find a new brunch place or until you see an outfit you like. Just remember, window shopping is cheap only if you don’t buy anything!

Make brunch

It’s always great to have company over so you can share laughs and stories. Instead of going out for brunch, why not stay in and make brunch for your family and friends? Making brunch at home gives you more control over the menu so you can prepare a healthy meal with fresh ingredients. It’s also a much cheaper option for everyone since eating out is more expensive. If you’re feeling lucky, invite your company over to cook with you and see what concoctions you end up creating!

Read a book

Nothing beats curling up with a good book. If you’re looking for the ultimate “me-time” and you want to go on an other-worldly adventure without leaving your bed, a book might be just the escape you need. Exercise your mind from your comfy nest of pillows and if you really want that cozy feeling, ditch the Kindle and grab an old-fashioned paperback!

Of course, there are many more options for weekend activities, so definitely chime in with your suggestions. Enjoy!
