May the Fourth be with you

Nerds unite!

Star Wars Day 2017 is here and it’s time to hit up the best parties in the galaxy. That’s right, May 4th is a big deal for those that have watched little Anakin grow up over the years and it is very appropriate to celebrate with glow sticks and/or lightsabers (whichever you happen to have on you.)

At these stellar parties, you’re sure to come across a Chewbacca hanging out by the snack bar while not-so-subtly gorging themselves with tasty treats. However, as tempting as these goodies are, do your best to avoid joining the sugary Dark Side –– use the Force.

We’ve got your back with a few healthy snack ideas that will be enjoyed by Stormtroopers and young Jedi alike. They’re easy to make and out of this world! Good luck and May the Fourth be with you.

Light Saber Pretzel Sticks

Grab two bags of candy wafer melts and three bags of pretzel rods. Opt for the pre-colored candy melts instead of relying on food coloring.

Melt your wafers according to the package directions.

Dip one end of the pretzel rod into the chocolate and use a knife or rubber spatula to coat the rest of the rod.

Lay out all of your candy-coated pretzel rods on a non-stick cookie sheet.

Sprinkle with chopped nuts of your choice (peanuts are a strong option.)

Pop in the fridge for a half an hour or so until they’re set.

Han Jello

Make individual jell-o cups of your favorite colors (perhaps green and blue.)

Top with fresh fruits such as chopped strawberries, raspberries, or blueberries.

Serve with awesome Han Solo action figure.

You are now officially ready to head to Tatooine, or wherever your Star Wars Party is being held. Grab your friends and your robots (we’re looking at you R2-D2) and literally roll out.
