The Mindset That Will Win 2017
2017 is off to a great start, but there are still 360-some days to go. To truly make 2017 the best year ever, make sure you’ve got the right mindset. Having an open brain is the name of the game!
The right mindset will push you to experience new things and be the best version of yourself. You’ll feel good and spread feel good moments to those around you. Whatever you want to achieve this year, anything is possible with a good head on your shoulders. These tips will help guide your mindset for a successful 2017.
If you’ve been avoiding the things that scare you most, now’s the time to step up and confront those fears. Whether it’s traveling to new places, eating unfamiliar foods, or even signing up for that skydiving course you’ve been eyeing, now is the time to embrace your sense of adventure! Being a better you in 2017 means pushing your own limits. You’ll be surprised at what you can accomplish when you’re not holding yourself back.
Do What You Want
Enough from the peanut gallery, you’re in the driver’s seat this year! It’s tempting to factor in input from your friends and family as you make big life decisions. However, you must accept that you can’t please everyone. Prioritize yourself and your needs and pursue the things that will really make you happy. Perhaps it’s moving to another state (or country!) or maybe it’s switching jobs. It could even be something as small as getting whipped cream on your latte because, why not? 2017 is the year of YOU, so instead of saying “I wish…” start saying, “I will.”
Don’t Be Afraid of Rejection
Sometimes the barrier between you and your dreams is fear of rejection. Removing this barrier will allow you to experience so many more things. You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take, so even if you face rejection somewhere down the line, at least you experienced more than if you hadn’t started the journey at all. Imagine what could happen the one time your efforts are rewarded with opportunity instead of rejection. The world is your oyster!
Meet New People
Staying in the same social circles is quite comfortable, but meeting people outside of your immediate friends can really push you. Perhaps you’re a medical professional who can benefit from meeting musicians. Or maybe you’re a writer who can discover a new interest by hanging around software engineers. Most people are multidimensional, but aren’t aware of all sides of themselves until they meet people that bring new passions and talents out of themselves. Do yourself a favor and seek out those that help you discover you!
Take Care of Yourself
Of course, all of these mental shifts require a lot of thought and energy. It’s important to stay healthy in order to set yourself up for success. Eating right and taking the time to meditate are a few easy ways to take care of your mental and physical health. You’ll have the energy and brain power to take on the day and make the most of out every second of 2017.
