When life gives you lemons, do you actually make lemonades? I dont believe that personally. A lot of people go through a lot in their lives and a common coping mechanism that they opt for in order to make themselves feel okay is smoking.

I know! I know! not everyone does it as a coping mechanism. Some of you might have come under the influence of close friends. You tried it once and voila it suddenly made you feel as if the world around you is actually heaven that you’re living in.

But, it should be kept in mind that with all the amusement the cons of smoking can never be overlooked. It is known to a lot of you that smoking does affect the lungs and heart. However, it might hit you like a shock that it can affect the eyes and eyesight pretty badly. It can impact your vision, cultivate dry eyes, and affect the blood flow to the retina.

The risk of sight loss is increased 4 times if you are a smoker and for heavy smokers, the figure gets even higher.

A great number of AMD cases occur due to tobacco consumption that is extremely unhealthy. Other visual complications are seen making life difficult for people. So, do consider quitting the use of tobacco and other eye exercises, which I know you won’t pay attention to as of now.

When a woman smokes while she is expecting. It is the worst that she can do to affect the eyes of the child. The chemicals inhaled from cigarettes and other types o smoking can travel through the placenta and cause serious damage to the baby’s eyes.

The leading cause of blindness in newborns is the consumption of tobacco during the pregnancy period. Abies that are exposed to smoke while resting in the womb is more likely to be acquainted-eyed or crossed-eyed. Generally, it is seen that smoker women give birth to premature babies as compared to non-smokers.

The most addictive component to get from too much tobacco consumption is called nicotine. It interferes and impacts the balance center in the brain. Due to this reason, eerie eye movements can be observed, these are referred to as, nystagmus. These movements when noticed can be circular and also jerky enough to make it difficult for you to focus on one object.

It can be treated by getting surgery done, but to be honest there is no permanent solution for it. It always comes back so there is no need to spend money to make it all okay when it is going to come back.
